Keren Cardenas has experience in providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families who are struggling to overcome barriers in life. She provides therapeutic cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and strategies to promote the psychological health and wholeness of the clients. Over the years, she has helped individuals achieve their goals by instilling hope. She values collaboration and communication when fostering a therapeutic relationship and believes each client requires personalized treatment. Keren specializes in treating clients with depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, ADHD, and traumas.

I am a strength based therapist; I believe we each have strengths that can be built upon. I have a passion for families. A family is a system with a great deal of moving parts that often need some adjusting. I will first LISTEN with empathy and compassion and then help to identify goals. You may be someone experiencing a major life transition, a parent struggling to reach your child, a spouse feeling unsupported or a teen having no idea how to navigate. I can help you to process your struggles and develop effective, practical strategies to realize change or simply walk through a challenging chapter with a renewed sense of hope.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), as well as a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC); board certification earning the highest standards of practice in clinical mental health counseling upon meeting stringent education, examination, supervision, experience, and ethical requirements. Beyond individual therapy, my clinical experience includes college counseling, children and family therapy services, working with individuals with severe mental illness in intensive outpatient residencies, corrections, as well as psychological testing and evaluation services.

My goal is to help others understand who they are and the importance of their individuality during multiple stages in their life. I think that it is important to understand who we are in order to understand how we will approach challenges and success that may arise. You will find that I am a good listener and easygoing. I specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy and can assist with behavior modification. I am to provide my clients with the tools to help them be successful outside of our sessions.

With a background in nursing and home health and for the last twenty years as a psychologist I bring a wide variety of skills and knowledge to the therapeutic relationship. These days I specialize in grief work, past substance abuse, past trauma, and adult attention deficit - helping my clients find and use more effective coping strategies in daily life. I am motivated by the real possibility of empowerment. I assist and support people in their process of living a fulfilling and purpose driven life- no matter their age.

I have been a practicing therapist for over twenty-five years. I spent a number of years working with children, adolescents and families in a community-based agency. Now in private practice, my focus has been on the needs of adults and couples of all ages. All are struggling with issues related to mental health, self-esteem, trauma, relationship challenges and life stage concerns. Each stage brings its challenges.

As a therapist, I work to foster a sense of acceptance and honest self-awareness, while also offering clients support and professional expertise to surmount the obstacles their struggles have thrown in their path. With over 15 years experience, I feel equipped to work with a wide array of issues. My experience includes treating behavioral problems, ADD, and sexual addictions, as well as working with adults, children and adolescents, couples, and families. I integrate spiritual-based counseling and psychotherapy.
