I am a Christian therapist trained in many techniques, interventions, and approaches (i.e., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Humanistic); however, my focus is on working with my clients to meet their need for counseling. I believe counseling is the most effective way to gain insight into how our past is directing our present and future choices. We live in a world embraced intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships that have shaped and influenced our perception of ourselves and insightful counseling helps us ascertain what is important to us. I will work with clients, who prefer to incorporate their Christian beliefs into their counseling session.
Counseling includes individuals, couples, and blended families, different cultural backgrounds, and children/teens with academic difficulties, substance addictions, and eating disorders. I have been trained in marriage and family therapy using an effective treatment model and specializing in marital conflicts, cultural issues, PTSD, ADD, addictions, anxiety, anger, and depression issues.
As a therapist, wife (30 years), and mother of two, I believe in practicing therapy by emphasizing personal empowerment through personal enlightenment, growth, and responsibility. I am under the supervision of Pat Harwell and Terry Freeman.
