I am a Columbia University trained licensed psychologist specializing in treating school age children and young adults. I am skilled in treating a wide range of difficulties that children may have including: anxiety, depression, stress induced difficulties, problems with school and social adjustment as well as family based difficulties. I have also treated a number of college aged adults who struggled in their college experience. Part of my treatment approach is to identify individual strengths and capacities (rather than just vulnerabilities) in order to maximize an individual's ability to cope with challenging circumstances and to strengthen and grow
I have more than 10 years of experience running school based therapeutic programs for adolescents where I have treated many young people with a variety of complaints. I use a cognitive behavioral approach as a foundation for treatment along with mindfulness based techniques as my basic philosophical framework for treatment.
In addition to running a school based therapeutic program, I maintain a small private practice where I work intensively with clients, their families, and oftentimes their school. Strengthening the systems that surround an individual is often a crucial factor in cultivating resiliency in a young person who is experiencing distress.
