This form of therapy is instrumental in helping those with MBTI along with ADHD and PTSD.
With over 20 years as a Jungian based psychotherapist working with individuals, couples, and children, I provide therapy carefully tailored to the need of each individual client in conjunction with the goals set by my clients. I often apply CBT with children and offer Neurofeedback and sand play therapy. I have successfully treated individuals struggling with life transitions, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. I am an expert witness in court on domestic violence and child abuse.

When you heal and grow your family, your community and the world begins to heal. We get caught in living in what I call 'the comfort of our discomfort' and making change and breaking patterns can feel more than challenging. It is my passion to assist you in healing and growing.

Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest people amongst us need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems. Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at some point. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or any other issue, you should know that there is hope for a better tomorrow. You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support for personal matters, but when you do, you will feel confident that you are taking a courageous first step towards getting to a better place and being a better you.

Being a teenager is harder now than it has ever been. Adolescence is a demanding developmental time for the entire family system, but the adolescent years don’t need to be filled with chaos and confusion. Instead, we can support our young people to embrace change and live with a deep sense of community, connection, and confidence.

I have worked at Light of the Rockies in Fort Collins, Vail Relationship Institute in the Vail Valley, and Trailhead Christian Counseling in the Roaring Fork Valley helping people with depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, marital challenges, relational challenges, and the normal struggles of everyday life.
I strongly believe in the power and importance of the therapeutic relationship between me and my clients. There is nothing more important to me than building trust and safety so that you feel comfortable opening up about what is happening in your life. I am very laid back and use an informal style that feels much more collaborative than authoritative. I am on the journey with you!

However, I enjoy helping people with a variety of different concerns including low self-esteem, stress management, relationship issues, ADHD, grief, anger management, and rigid personality traits.
I believe that human beings have a level of resiliency that is truly amazing. At times, individuals can need some assistance with realizing this and being able to tap into their own strength. I am passionate about therapy because it allows a person to be in a safe space to develop insights and experience healing. The therapeutic process is one that should be open, trusting, and enlightening. My goal is to work side by side with clients to help them tap into their inner strength, in order to enhance their overall well-being.

If you or someone you know is suffering from invisible illness, then you might have found the right talk therapist. With years of experience managing chronic pain, anxiety, and depression, I help individuals form deeper and more understanding relationships with those in their lives who cannot see the pain that you or your loved one may be experiencing. Studies on medication prevail, but the impact of mental health on physical health often goes unacknowledged. My goal is to help you live a stronger, more fulfilling life by providing specialized guidance and support.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
