I have been licensed as a counselor in Texas since 2008.I am a licensed psychologist and licensed professional counselor supervisor. I specialize in treating adolescents and families with various issues, such as anger, behavior problems, and relational difficulties. Given my nearly 13 years of experience in the counseling field, I am comfortable utilizing an eclectic approach to treatment, based on the individual needs of the client. I am also licensed through the PsyPact which allows me to provide telehealth to many states in the U.S.

I have a passion for helping children deal with big emotions. Children, often, do not have the ability to verbally express their feelings in words, and, therefore, my preferred approach is child-centered play therapy, which utilizes play as a medium for self-expression. Child-centered play therapy allows a child the freedom to process through the complex emotions they are experiencing, in a safe, contained space, and within a therapeutic relationship. Typically, children being able to communicate and experience their feelings in the playroom will alleviate the behavioral concerns that may result from emotional distress.

To one person, failing their algebra test might be the worst day of their lives, to another it might be losing their grandfather. No matter what others may say or think, no one has the authority to tell you how you should feel." These are the words I live by and bring into every session. I lend an empathetic ear to those whose voices and feelings are neglected.
