Utilizing EEG biofeedback (neurofeedback), therapeutic music and hypnosis, we have a creative approach to individualize a treatment plan for every client. Our practice consists of both children and adults. Primarily the children come to work on ADD/ADHD or autistic spectrum disorders. The adults come for an array of issues: anxiety, depression, migraines, chronic pain and sleep problems. In addition, we work with clients for peak performance, i.e., eradicating barriers from even higher executive, academic, athletic or artistic excellence.

Hi, I'm Rebecca. Many of my clients are women and nonbinary folks in their 20s and 30s who are exploring their neurodivergence (usually Autism and/or ADHD) as an adult. They may already have a neurodivergent identity or be in the process of figuring out their experiences. Together, we explore their unique strengths, learn how to meet sensory and self-care needs, and address challenges that arise from living in a neurotypical world. As a late-identified neurodivergent person, I have found that embracing our neurodivergence can lead us on a powerful journey of self-discovery, joy, and connection with ourselves and others.

Other issues I treat are ADHD, anxiety, depression, and OCD.
Accepting New Clients (Individuals and Couples)-Life can feel really overwhelming at times, especially when you are trying to manage the daily grind, while also being present in your personal and professional relationships. When you have a busy and demanding life your personal relationships often take a back burner and it’s hard to deal with problems effectively in the moment. Sometimes it’s easier to numb out or avoid with unhealthy habits. But, eventually these habits leave you feeling more stressed and disconnected, and problems that once appeared small snowball into larger issues.

Expressing one's self and naming emotions can be exhausting. Specifically men would tell me "no one ever taught or allowed me to express myself from when I was a kid". Not being able to communicate and express yourself will eventually stunt growth in relationships and in personal development. However, the arts add a variety and texture to the verbal that can be described, shaped and...transformed. This allows us to return back to the first ways we communicated in our early years which turns into a freeing experience. You begin to engage differently with yourself, others and start to have a clear plan for your wellbeing.

I help Adults and Children address panic, anxiety, fear, sexuality, LGBT, depression, ADHD, diet/body image, relationship, bullying, shame, oppositionality and attachment issues.
Feeling nervous or stressed is natural. When these feelings overwhelm us, we need someone to listen, to validate our concerns, and to help us get to the root of our problems with tools that will inspire hope, and help us regain control of our lives. I use Mindfulness Practices to help people sit with, and tolerate what comes up. I use Self-Compassion Practices to help soothe what ails you, and I often use CBT to organize our plan going forward. This gives you tools that you can use immediately, and strikes a fine balance between listening and responding.

I treat mood disorders, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, substance use, ADHD and concerns related to identity, sexuality and gender.
My treatment approach is integrative and personalized to my clients’ needs, focused on building a foundation of trust. I prefer a holistic approach to treatment which, while based in a psychodynamic framework, draws from my specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, attachment based, trauma-informed and mindfulness modalities. I work with adults ranging from young adulthood through end of life, using a culturally-sensitive approach.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
