My practice is in neuropsychology, and I am specialized in evaluation, assessment, and diagnosis of neuropsychological conditions; I am not a practicing therapist. I work with those age 4-90+ to provide diagnostic clarity & outline treatment recommendations. Everyone has personal strengths and personal weaknesses, & we could all use a little help in certain areas. A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation allows me to identify cognitive strengths & weaknesses and better understand behavioral functioning & emotional functioning to get the widest, clearest picture of the individual as possible.
Evaluations start with a diagnostic interview during which we talk about about current concerns, symptoms, or problems. Next is testing, which typically includes some one-on-one tasks, questions, and puzzles as well as rating scales/questionnaires. Evaluations end with a feedback when we review results, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations.
Regardless of a diagnosis, I use what I learn to tailor recommendations to meet the needs of each individual, whether that be interventions for the academic/work environment, accommodations to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), or resources to promote healthy cognitive, mental, and physical health.
