Introduction to Guided Meditation
Mindfulness is both a skill and a practice. Research shows the stronger one’s ability to adopt a mindful state through the perpetual ups and downs of life, the less suffering one will experience. However, the default mode for many individuals is, in fact, non-attention. When we do manage to focus on internal experiences in the present moment, it is often filled with self-critical, ruminative, or otherwise worrisome thoughts and emotions we then attempt to suppress. Come explore how to break this pattern and cultivate nonjudgmental awareness of the present moment experience, while encouraging openness, curiosity, and acceptance.
