With over 31 years in 12-Step recovery, I felt called to this profession. I believe that my own personal struggle with addiction and childhood trauma helps me meet my clients with a sense compassion and hope for what recovery can offer.
Many of my clients struggle with addiction, relational, or other issues typically resulting from maladaptive coping skills. My training taught me about the impact of childhood trauma on the developing brain resulting in developmental immaturity and a dysregulated nervous system.
In addition to my training with Pia Mellody, I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, (CSAT). I am also trained in EMDR and Gottman Couple Therapy. I help clients understand how adaptive patterns learned in childhood may be impacting their lives today. I try to meet clients where they are help them in achieving their goals.
