I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received both my B.A. degree in Psychology and my M.A. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University. I have received my doctorate from Northcentral University with a specialization in Health Psychology. I have experience working with crisis intervention and suicidal ideation through working on a crisis and suicide hotline, as well as facilitating ten week aftercare programs for adolescent suicidal ideation and alcohol and drug addiction. I have experience working with families regarding divorce, teen pregnancy, and blended families.
I enjoy working with families to help them find solutions to family issues that can facilitate a cohesive bond within the family unit. I utilize family therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy in my approach to help individuals understand how to communicate and function within the family in a healthy way.
My specialty in Health Psychology reflects the focus of how the individual is more than just a physical being, but also must consider the wholeness of a person which includes physical, mental, psychological, social, and spiritual domains. My approach to counseling includes the wholeness of a person - body, mind & spirit.
