I have been working with people experiencing PTSD, Depression/Anxiety. Drug Addiction, Bipolar Disorder, and Family issues... My general position is that our emotions serve a purpose, (like a check engine light on the dashboard of a car). After we check and repair the engine, the light goes out... If the issue remains unchecked and unrepaired, the light gets stronger and more insistent... I will work hand-in-hand with Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and MD's, if needed. However, I believe that the use of meds is only one step on the road to recovery.

I work with teens, young adults, individuals, families, and couples. I have extensive experience with relationship issues, self-esteem, depression, bipolar, trauma, anxiety, and addiction. I believe that all great struggle creates the opportunity for profound growth and that what lies on the other side of discomfort is greater than any of us could have imagined. For 30 years I have helped couples and individuals to create a satisfying, loving, conflict-free life by overcoming past or present obstacles. These include expressing emotion, identifying helpful and dysfunctional thinking/beliefs and changing behavior or developing strategies to create success. My professional experience includes working with our military services members and their dependents working through deployments, suicide, multiple relocation's, marital issues, PTSD and other issues that military families face. In addition, I have worked with families, teens and children on multiple issues such as depression, anxiety, family issues, divorce, substance abuse, anger management, grief and loss, parenting skills, domestic violence and adolescent issues. now offering mental health evals, fit for duty evaluations , custody evaluation , dwi evaluations and other and testing. As the child of a Vietnam Veteran with PTSD, I have experienced the long lasting effects of trauma and understand the impact on our heroes and their family members; including First Responders. Untreated trauma, not just Military related, can lead to depression, anxiety, addictions, unhealthy relationships, suicidal thoughts/behaviors, and so much more. Sometimes it can feel like you are alone in the darkness. I will walk with you in the darkness until you find the light again.

And I am like you; I hate waiting in the reception area to see the counselor, therefore I make every attempt to stay on schedule this is a priority to me so that I won't disrespect your time.
