According to A. Maslow, you must first have your basic physiological needs met before you can reach self-actualization. If you are searching for support and guidance in making the necessary changes to improve your life, I am here for you. I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders and/or addictions. Some of my clients only require a few sessions while others have found that long term therapy is more beneficial since trust and safety are key ingredients in reaching therapeutic goals. The therapeutic alliance is most definitely related to the outcome of treatment.
I have specialized in mood, eating, and addictive disorders for over 20 years in a private practice setting. My earlier research focused on the addictive model of eating disorders and Self-Help v. Professional Treatment. In addition to individual sessions, I offer a women's group which is a key factor in recovery for mood, eating and addictive struggles.
Over the years of practicing as a therapist, I have gone from more of a Cognitive and Behavioral approach to a more Mindfulness based Cognitive Behavioral and Relational style finding it to be more helpful. This combination of psychological and spiritual tools help to bring about significant growth and change.
