If you are searching therapy sites, you are most likely trying to get help for yourself or a loved one. It is essential that you find a match when selecting a psychotherapist. I connect with clients by listening and exploring without placing judgement. I am diverse in my approach, as each client is unique and will enjoy & respond differently to therapy techniques. Many individuals come in due to depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, substance abuse, loss and/or grief. These struggles greatly affect people's ability to thrive. I help my clients work through these issues and increase positive changes.

My passion lies in supporting folks as they navigate the intersection of depression, anxiety, addiction, and more.
Are you feeling drained and eager for a positive shift? At times, it can be challenging to pinpoint the source of our emotions, leaving us overwhelmed. However, by slowing down and embracing a moment of reflection, we can begin to unravel our stories and uncover the keys to a more fulfilling life. We all crave connection and understanding, yet internal barriers often stand in our way. In therapy, we create a sanctuary where you can explore these barriers in a nurturing environment, fostering new ways of relating to yourself and those around you.

Anxiety, depression, loneliness and grief from life stressors can increase tension and conflict in your relationships. You may wonder, "Does marriage counseling or therapy in general work?" "What are the signs a couple should get a counselor?" "Are other issues in our lives being overlooked, such as substance abuse, depression or overwhelming stress?" No single set of answers to these questions works for everyone, but together we will find new ideas and ways to ease your pain and make things better. I don't take sides. What ever the issues are, the process of healing and repair starts by getting some help. I am Medicare certified.

I’ve helped people realize their potential to break free from addiction.
Let’s be real…life has a way of taking over sometimes and leaving you feeling powerless, frustrated, irritated or any number of ways. It can seem like a giant mess or other times it’s not too bad, but you may still be struggling to put the pieces together. Whether it’s a small issue that you just want to process, or you feel like you are hanging by a thread, my goal is to help you regain control. I want to walk with you through whatever is troubling you and help you find the power to work it out.

Kendall provides a dynamic, relationally focused, integrated approach to the treatment of substance-related disorders, addiction, and other commonly co-occurring disorders. She believes that the duality that has historically existed in the substance abuse/addiction field and the broader mental health field impedes client outcomes. She aids clients in gaining insight into the function of addiction in their lives, enhancing distress tolerance, and developing adaptive coping mechanisms. She emphasizes the ongoing cultivation of supportive, differentiated, interpersonal relationships to enhance prognosis for long-term recovery.

You are not alone. One of the most common experiences we share as humans are having ups and downs occur throughout our lives. Then messages that we tell ourselves start to pile on... "I'm not good enough", "I can't..", "what if..", and the "should, should, should" become our constant burden. This can become a downward spiral of events, thoughts, emotions and behavior. My focus is to connect with you to sort this out and develop messages that help you overcome suffering. My practice focuses on ages 14 - 65 on issues including: Addiction, Anger, Depression, Anxiety, Domestic Violence, Overcoming Shame and Life Transitions.

Addiction Therapists

What is the best therapy for addiction?

Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?

There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?

Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?

The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
