Psychotherapy and finding the right therapist can be a challenge. For many, it's finding the right one that provides a comfortable and personable experience. For some it can be tough to open up and get connected. Its those relationships that provide the grounding for effective and helpful treatment. I strive to provide a safe and affirming place to accomplish just that. From there, it can be easier to address and evaluate specific treatments tailored for the individual and provide for a therapeutic experience that you can find valuable and, most importantly, helpful.
I have a strong focus on both Adolescent and Adult treatment. I have lengthy experience in working with depression, anxiety, self esteem, and other mood disorders. I place a lot of attention to issues of diversity (racial, sexual, & gender) and work to provide an environment where one can feel heard and understood.
In addition to those issues, I have a focus on teens and adults who struggle with gender identity and gender dysphoria. My practice provides an affirming and accepting attitude from front office staff to therapy in session. Lastly, I have extensive work with creative personality types such as artists/musicians and work closely with the area arts community.
