While there are many quick-fix therapies in mental health treatment, I believe that depth-based work is essential to creating change that truly lasts. I view it as essential for us to develop a strong, trusting & meaningful working relationship early in our work together & for us to use our relationship as the foundation for successful psychotherapy. One of the gifts of therapy is an opportunity to be truly heard & supported. That foundation of support can be a powerful addition to one’s life when it is effectively developed between a client & therapist.
I find that therapy often involves helping clients to build deeper, more meaningful relationships, to grow more comfortable with experiencing & responding to unpleasant emotions, to grow more trusting of pleasant emotions & experiences, & to learn to approach oneself self-compassionately. I work with adults of all ages, couples, & older adolescents.
I especially enjoy working with couples, those managing dating stress, divorce/breakups, young professionals, college students, therapists, artists/creatives & business owners/managers.
