I believe that in order for you to get the therapy that is needed, psychological comfort with me is number one. It’s not an easy task to meet someone you don’t know and talk to them about what is bothering you. Every patient has different needs. Some prefer a more family feel to the therapy relationship and others a more clinical feel like in a traditional doctor-patient relationship. My goal is to welcome you into my practice in a way that gives you the feelings you need to open up about the symptoms and life situations that are distressing you.
Don’t get caught up in the differences between all the types of therapies out there. It comes down to a relationship in which you will feel understood, so you can let go of old patterns and explore. The basic psychology of the mind imagines that change can happen by just thinking. In truth, change requires private support for a challenging world.
I know how hard it is to change. To even take the first step toward seeking therapy may feel impossible. I have been there myself. I use my personal growing experiences as the backbone of my treatment philosophy. The word “impossible” also contains two words: I’m possible. Let’s make that happen.
