I enjoy working with children, adolescents, families, and adults, specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, behavioral acting out, life transition struggles, family conflict, self-esteem, social concerns, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and trauma related issues. My vast experiences working in therapeutic day school settings has afforded me the opportunity to work with a diverse array of clients, as well as ignited my passion for working with those who are misunderstood and labeled in a negative way for their struggles.
I am also excited to run group therapies including those that integrate games and fantasy such as Dungeons and Dragons to build on group members' life skills, social skills, and coping skills. I also have extensive knowledge of IEPs and 504 planning in the public school system, and am familiar with the struggles of navigating special education.
I like to believe that my positive energy, humor, and calm demeanor provide clients with a feeling of safety, facilitating great change and growth. I integrate expressive and creative methods into treatment when traditional "talk therapy" is not suited to an individual, and focus on strength and how to use these to promote a more healthy way of thinking.
