As a licensed psychotherapist, I have experience working with a variety of issues. I believe that change happens when an individual experiences the therapeutic relationship as safe and nonjudgmental. This allows individuals to develop a voice and be heard. I support my clients in accessing their innate motivation to change while assisting them in re-evaluating patterns of thought and behavior that inhibit personal growth. I have been trained in therapeutic practices that are shown to be effective in helping clients to reach their personal goals.
My specialties include self-harm and suicidal behavior, behavior change, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and couples and family therapy. I have been trained in evidenced-based therapies to address self-harm/suicidal behavior, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
I emphasize the use of treatments that are extensively researched and proven to be effective. For example, when it is appropriate, I utilize treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Motivational Interviewing to assist clients in resolving their symptoms.
