Adam has an extensive background in modern psychoanalysis and psychodynamic techniques. He believes that counseling is a journey to ‘know thy self,’ including acceptance of limitations and understanding one’s potential. Adam works to strengthen resiliency and sense of agency. He helps clients develop the ability to express a full range of emotions, growing in intimate relationships, and developing an awareness of how one’s life experiences shape one’s understanding of self and the world.
I hold a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Education Instructional Specialist of Reading from the University of Texas at El Paso. My scope of practice includes working with individuals, couples, families, and groups from a variety of backgrounds and concerns, using psychodynamic and modern psychoanalytic techniques.
When any individual makes the decision to seek therapy, each person comes with their own unique experience. The counseling relationship is meant to honor such experiences, perspectives and ambitions through a thoughtful collaboration between therapist and client, helping the client to grow and understand their unique human experience in a meaningful way.
