With over 25 years of experience, I offer individuals and families a safe and accepting environment to explore and gain a better understanding of the issues most affecting their lives. In addition to providing tools, skills, and resources for better managing symptoms and behaviors, I work with people on gaining greater insight and understanding into the various underlying causes of their internal and external difficulties. When combined with a strengths-based approach that helps people get in touch with and summon their inner courage, strength, and best self, we can work on making meaningful and long-lasting change.
Whether we know it or not, everyone is struggling with something. Sometimes we're able to figure things out and solve our problems on our own, and sometimes we need additional help, support, and insight. I work hard to provide a safe and trusting space in which we can talk about the uncomfortable truths that we often keep to ourselves.
Children often have difficulty putting their feelings into words. Instead, they "act out" these feelings within their relationships with parents, siblings, and others. The goal of child therapy is to promote healthy and progressive emotional development. This is achieved through play and talk therapy along with parent guidance sessions.
