About
It has been a privilage to have shared in the lives and the struggles of thousands of people during the last 20 years. Sessions can be in person at my office in Corpus Christi, or we can do Skype or Face-Time counseling. Please visit me at www.acorncounseling.com and read the articles I posted there. I work with individual adults, couples, teenagers and children. Counseling involves listening, reflecting, analyzing, reframing and desensitizing. Role playing, rehearsal and relaxation training are often used. Healing emotional wounds and restoring damaged relationships are often the goals of psychotherapy.
I have several areas of specialization. I help couples save their marriages by managing anger and improving communication. I help children process their feelings and control their behavior using play therapy and other techniques. I help people with individual goals, like managing anxiety, depression, and bi-polar disorder. I treat ADHD.
I do identify myself as a Christian counselor. I encourage people to meditate on specific psalms and scriptures and to pray. I believe people should try to save marriages. I believe we should study Christ's teachings so we can become more like Him in our thoughts and actions.
