I teach and integrate the “heavy hitters” of psychological theories; ACT, DBT, CBT/REBT, EFT, and Gottman methods in Couples work.
I am a licensed psychologist offering online therapy in 39 states. I am an integrative psychotherapist and bring curiosity, warmth, compassion, and a sense of humor to the therapeutic relationship. I consider societal and cultural influences while helping clients to explore their relationship/intimacy issues, sexuality, identity, struggles with depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health concerns. I take a sex positive approach and am attuned to the needs of poly, non-monogamous, open, kink, and BDSM clients. I find Clients do best when they understand the science associated with their struggles and mental health.

I integrate EFIT, EMDR, ACT, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, Jungian, and existential to meet each person's unique history and needs.
Life prompts us toward growth and health, leading us to change thoughts, feelings, behaviors, or beliefs that keep us from peace and joy. Difficult childhood or adult experiences may disrupt our ability to connect well with our emotions and deepest heart's desires, making it challenging to have satisfying, healthy relationships. For over 20 years I have helped individuals and couples to heal old wounds and grow past outworn patterns into greater freedom and heart connections. Are you ready to answer life's call to grow? I offer myself as a trustworthy companion in the next phase of your life's journey.

I have training in various modalities: EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT, DBT, ACT.
Have you struggled with a specific trauma and continue to get flashbacks, anxiety, intrusive thinking, and constant worries about the past? Do you feel stuck and confused about what to do and where to turn? EMDR can help you process difficult memories and traumatic situations, freeing you from intrusive disturbances. I offer intensive EMDR sessions, which means three days for 2.5-hour sessions to process trauma and get you back to living in the present. This is for individuals who want to use ONE week to process their trauma and ignite their natural healers.

The first step of reaching out to a counselor is an act of self-care that I wholeheartedly respect and admire.
We all find seasons where we are faced with great difficulties: life's losses, pressures, and changes can pile up and feel overwhelming, at times. But you don't have to face these battles alone! Having the compassionate support of a professional can make all the difference in weathering life's storms.

I utilize ACT and DBT with individuals and Gottman or Restoration Therapy with couples.
Are your relationships becoming increasingly more challenging to navigate? Sometimes, our emotions get the best of us and we lash out at the people we love or recluse from them. Either way, it feels like a perpetual cycle. This can happen in our parenting, romantic relationships, and our work. Maybe you've talked with some close friends or even read up to try and find a solution, but you haven't found the missing piece to the puzzle.

Common therapy techniques/modalities I use, have been Systemic (Family Systems), Humanistic, Solution-Focused, Narrative, CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, PIT, Experiential & Body Regulation.
First, I want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I focus on creating an emotionally safe place. Safe enough to be vulnerable and lean into discomfort. Safe enough to create change that may be desired or needed. My style is direct, compassionate, and caring. When appropriate, I use humor, transparency, and my own quirky personality to help create a safe environment and vulnerability. It is the balance of being client-centered (meeting clients where they’re at) and encouraging change (which sometimes includes calling out BS or respectfully challenging when needed). Im currently offering in-person and telehealth.

I will use an integrated approach including CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness to assist you in developing meaningful goals that align with your personal values.
Have you ever felt like you wanted more out of life, but you weren’t sure where to start? You find yourself engaging in familiar and ineffective patterns, but aren’t sure how to break free? Choosing therapy as a mode to find your way is a courageous decision you can make toward transformation, in a way that feels authentic and tailor-made for you. Seeking therapy does not have to mean there is something “wrong” with you, only that you need a safe and accepting place to make sense of difficult emotions, painful experiences, and to create tools to make lasting change. **Currently, all sessions with me are Telehealth only**

I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and have a history of working 10 years in the Arizona public mental health system with those with a Serious Mental Illness and others struggling with these conditions.
Hello! It may have taken you a long time to get here and you may have already tried lots of things, from "thinking positive" to "bootstraps" to "letting it go" and though you've tried your best, there's nothing wrong with asking for help. That's why I'm here. We can always talk it out and if it becomes apparent that a deeper treatment is needed, we'll start to dig. I have Saturday hours. LGBTQIA2K+ friendly and open to all faiths and non-faiths.

I also use CBT, ACT and Polyvagal skills.
Sometimes we get so overwhelmed by messages of who we are supposed to be we lose track of who we are. This affects every aspect of our lives. It influences how we relate to our friends, family, coworkers, romantic partners and the people we pass at the grocery store but most strongly how we relate to ourselves. Finding greater understanding of who we are is how we create change. My role is to assist you on this journey, guide you in finding those answers and show you how to create healthy change with this knowledge.

My approach is psychodynamic (your unconscious mind & feelings matter!) and may integrate mindfulness, ACT therapy, boundary work, body-tracking, spiritual beliefs, dreams, or coaching.
Crises and life transitions tend to spotlight where we need to grow. I have two typical clients. One is interested in ongoing psychotherapy and has often (though not necessarily) been in therapy before. The other is looking for shorter-term work to sort through a decision or transition. Depression, anxiety, "stuckness" or "emptiness" often inspire people to call. I work with adults of all backgrounds, but have niche experience with many chronic illnesses, including long COVID, MCAS, EDS and cancer; neurodiversity-affirming work with autism & ADHD; older adults & aging; and healthcare & mental health professionals.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
