I work towards supporting my clients in developing insights, overcome obstacles, and uncovering the version of themselves they seek to find. I understand that in the face of challenges, this becomes an incredibly daunting task. I offer a non-judgmental and compassionate space for clients to feel heard and understood. I work with individuals, couples, and families dealing with anxiety, OCD, personality disorders, relationship issues, and life transitions. I utilize DBT, CBT and ACT along with Narrative Therapy, and Family Systems approaches, incorporating behavioral techniques as needed.

My work emphasizes a nonjudgmental and accepting approach towards mental health as it takes immense courage to begin to ask for the support that most of us need at least one point in our life. I work with individuals that experience sudden shifts in their mood, have difficulty regulating their emotions, anxiety, depression, obsessions and compulsions, addiction, body image issues, trauma, and the natural difficulties that arise with living life in our busy modern day society. I start from a trauma informed lens that utilizes multiple evidence based practices including ACT, CBT, and somatic based interventions.

This world can leave us feeling powerless and without control. But I believe we have more power left to be uncovered. I work with adults, intimate partners, and adolescents to meet them where they are to collaborate, with the mission to assist in shedding light on their journeys towards awareness, acceptance, and change they want. I am passionate about working with complex trauma/PTSD, interpersonal relationship issues, anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, perfectionism, neurodivergence, self-confidence, grief, and multicultural issues that arise within AAPI, BIPOC, immigrant, LGBTQIA+, and multi-racial/ethnic communities.

It takes strength and courage to seek support, so I am glad you’re here. Healing, growth, change, and internal freedom are possible. Sometimes it is a matter of recognizing and taking care of the parts of you that have been neglected or hurting. Sometimes it is a matter of growing the parts of you that you were not allowed to explore. On the other side of these parts are connection, peace, joy, and strength. I am here to provide a safe space for you to start this journey with me.

Do you find yourself trying to make everyone around you happy, even if that means you go unseen? You worry people won’t like you if you don’t get everything just right and even still you never feel appreciated for everything you do. And when someone does recognize your efforts? You hide from the spotlight, protesting that it wasn’t a big deal anyway. Everytime you put the work in or try something new, that nagging voice says “not good enough, try harder”, so you stay in your comfort zone. Turns out, the comfort zone isn’t very comfortable. Other people say you seem so put together, but when you look around, all you see is failure.

I believe you're here for a reason, and that God has a purpose for you. Depression, anxiety, marital issues, eating disorders, and many other problems, keep us from living full lives. I became a therapist because I have a passion for helping people who are hurting, and want more out of life. I believe my greatest strength is helping people find the missing keys needed to make positive change. I believe I connect well with my clients by not judging them and by empathizing with their struggles. I am passionate about helping people find the happiness they're looking for.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
