Using a whole-person approach, I tailor sessions to each client using the principles of CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness, and exercise.
If you're feeling overwhelmed by constant unease, oppressive sadness, or trapped by past experiences, know healing is possible, and you don't have to face it alone. Through compassionate support, cognitive strategies, and body-based practices, we'll work toward inner strength and resilience. I specialize in leveraging the psychological benefits of physical activity–you don't need any experience with exercise, curiosity can be a starting point. I also work with the unique challenges faced by athletes of all levels. I have extensive experience working with adolescents, teens, and adults.

I truly believe it is never too late to learn about yourself and take steps toward a full, meaningful life. We may be a good match if you are experiencing anxiety, life transitions, grief or loss, or if you want to increase kindness, compassion, and care toward yourself (yes, yourself!) and others. I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which integrates mindfulness, personal values, and taking active steps to get unstuck. My clients find that it is very possible to learn skills to reduce anxiety, improve communication, and change unhelpful life patterns.

I use an integrative approach including attachment theory, ACT, and Internal Family Systems to help my clients feel better through deepening their relationship with themselves.
You are painfully aware of not feeling seen, heard, or validated by the people you desperately want to feel close to. In social situations, you may get in your own way- stuck in your head with anxiety about judgment or about saying the ‘right’ thing. You have a hard time falling asleep as you replay conversations in your head wondering what went wrong. More than anything else, you want to feel connected – to friends who don’t judge you; to a partner you can feel comfortably vulnerable with; and to yourself in a way that’s kind and compassionate.

As an Existential, ACT, and DBT based practitioner, I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and couples who feel separated from the life they want to live and helping you be in better relationship with yourself and others around you.
Anxious, stuck, depressed, afraid. These words may be a few you use to describe your life, keeping you from living the way you want to live. I’m here to help you make sense of your struggles, build your strengths, and find peace in the midst of it all. My counseling practice is approachable and comfortable for people who have never seen a counselor before and those seeking a different therapy experience. Knowing where and how to begin might feel difficult for you, which is why we'll use the well-researched and evidence driven approach of ACT to guide us every step of the way.

I use a combination of CBT, DBT, and ERP/ACT in my treatment, and help you develop a personalized treatment plan to achieve your goals.
I have spent my career supporting families and adolescents facing challenges with...well, adolescence. People who never felt "just like everyone else" or dealt with a lot of negative self talk are those who I love supporting most. I am an art therapist as well as a licensed professional counselor, and that means we have a lot of options in our tool box to find what works best for you. What is most important to me is making sure you feel heard, comfortable, and safe (and maybe even laugh once or twice)! I also see young adults/college age clients as they continue to navigate "growing up".

My foundational approach is Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) which emphasizes building a mindful, meaningful, resilient life that can withstand life's storms & revel in its beauties.
Hi! I'm glad you found your way here. Reaching out can be difficult. Often filled with anxiety, fear, and self-doubt. I've been there. Along the way, I've experienced how essential it is to talk with someone eager to listen deeply, respond compassionately, and support journeys of healing in creative and thoughtful ways. Whether you're facing a point of challenge, a period of crisis, or a chronic issue, I welcome the opportunity to bring my experience and training alongside your experience, values, and goals. Together, we can make something decent of this strange, messy, and perhaps even beautiful world.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindfulness based, process oriented, transdiagnostic approach.
I understand that human suffering comes in many forms. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stressors from a significant life change, substance use, your relationship with food, grief, or trauma, my intrinsically focused, evidenced based approach will provide you with opportunities for meaningful therapeutic care. In therapy, we will work to reattune to what matters most to you, to reengage with the process of self creation and ongoing personal evolution, and to re-root yourself in value based behaviors.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
