About
***03/01/22 Accepting new clients*** As a counselor and a retired cop, I have dealt with a wide range of tragedies that can drive a person to seek counseling. Life is messy, and my background will help me understand what you have been through. Trauma is an emotional injury, and like many physical injuries it can heal if you tend to it properly. Even if you haven’t suffered an extreme event, you may feel stuck and be unable to move forward. I retired from policing so that I could more directly help people put their lives back together. Having bad things happen shouldn’t keep you from being able to have a good life.
My approach to counseling is pretty simple. You and I are teammates, with the goal of figuring out what you need and the best way to get you there. I am not here to dissect your mind. I’m here to meet you where you are, and walk with you through whatever brought you here so you can get on with your life.
Someone once asked me if I thought people could change their lives just by talking. The answer is no, I do not. If all we do is talk, change will happen slowly, if at all. But if you want to troubleshoot problems, come up with solutions, and try new things to see what might help you get your life back on track, I’m fairly confident I can help.
