Greetings, my name is Abram. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, working in the field for approximately 12 years. I have worked with a variety of individuals, and couples over the course of my career. My goal as a therapist, is to work myself out of a job. In other words, I want to help my clients, identify their goals, and then work towards their goals, in a relatively short period of time. In my professional experience, most people come to therapy as a result of relationship discord, or persistent distressing emotions. My goal is to assist my clients in finding relief from distressing, emotion, and enjoy relationships.
I am an eclectic therapist, drawing from different modalities and theories to assist by clients in reaching their goals. I tend to lean heavily on cognitive behavioral therapy, when working with individuals. When working with couples, I like to draw on the Gottman approach we would, of course, discuss this more in sessions.
Although mental health, and the idea of therapy, have become less stigmatized in society today, it can still be scary, deciding to enter therapy. I invite you on a journey, to learn, and better understand yourself, and improve your relationships in life. To know oneself, is divine, and our relationships in life, truly matter.
