Dr. Abigail Williams-Butler is a therapist with experience in adolescent residential treatment, child welfare, justice-involved youth, pregnant and parenting teens, and those with a trauma history broadly. She also specializes in culturally sensitive therapy.
Dr. Williams-Butler draws techniques from many sources including: client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness techniques.
Dr. Williams-Butler received her Masters of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She also received her Masters of Science (MS) in Developmental Psychology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and her PhD from the Joint Program in Social Work and Developmental Psychology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
