About
My practice is made up of thoughtful, resilient, hardworking people who come to therapy with presenting problems of anxiety and low self-esteem. It is common for these clients to be "everybody's therapist," giving great advice and support to others that they don't take themselves. Often, these folks find themselves in relationships where they feel nervous or insecure, unable to assert their needs and feelings for fear of alienating people they love. As a result, their attachments are often anxious, unstable and confusing.
My experience has been that a "team" approach between people works best in counseling. Helping individuals learn to help themselves seems to produce the most noticeable changes which remain significant over time. Often this involves using techniques that fit each person's own special ways of thinking and feeling.
You may be interested in learning more about yourself and creating changes which naturally reduce anxiety and depression. I meet two or three times with potential clients to make sure we are a good fit, and I encourage people to evaluate me for this as well.
