Trauma happens in many ways in our lives and in the world we live in. When something traumatic happens in our lives it can be difficult to move past it. We may find that we get stuck thinking about it or we get ourselves into similar situations over and over again. Sometimes we engage in destructive thoughts, behaviors, or relationships and we feel stuck or like things will never get better. It is difficult to get out of these patterns and habits until we process the traumatic experiences at the root of these thoughts and behaviors. Therapy can be one vital step in the healing journey of many people who have experienced trauma.
I specialize in working with young adults who have experienced interpersonal trauma which happens in families, in romantic relationships, in schools, in churches, and in society more broadly. Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes. Anything that has happened to you that you feel stuck with is what I work to heal with you.
I use EMDR to help you to process the traumatic events that have happened to you and The Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) to help your brain to heal itself. I firmly believe that we all have an inherent capacity to heal and I want to help you to be better able to engage in your life in ways that bring you joy.
