"PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION." Three simple words with profound implications. People seek therapy for one fundamental reason: Something in their life is not working, and they want to find a solution, an answer, to make things right again. In other words, people come to counseling to change what is no longer effective. "WITH EACH STEP, I AM GETTING STRONGER." This is my guiding philosophy, personally and professionally. I firmly believe that with enough time, support and guidance, everyone is capable of creating the change, the progress they want in their life.

During this process of change, you and I work collaboratively to: 1) identify what changes you want in your life; 2) guide you in recognizing (perhaps rediscovering) the strengths you possess to make these changes happen; and, 3) support you in creating a plan to put these changes into action.

"CHANGE IS HARD." Much in the same way our muscles are sore after an intense workout, when we make the deliberate decision to begin working outside of our "comfort zone" to break free from unproductive routines, the "discomfort" we feel lets us know we are growing, moving, improving, changing, progressing.

Abel Tomatis's Groups

"P.A.R.E.N.T. 101": 6 Steps to Effective Parenting

This group is intended for parents/caregivers who want to develop more positive and nurturing methods of child and adolescent behavior management. Briefly, behavior management is a shared process between children and adults. This means that with every improvement of behavior we expect or require of children, we have an equal responsibility to provide them with the support necessary to meet that expectation or requirement. This group will explore how a solution-focused approach can help parents/caregivers identify and implement both proactive behavioral interventions and positive discipline strategies to more effectively address disruptive, antisocial and/or other problematic misbehaviors.
