I am Abby Wilson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience working with adults facing a wide range of issues and diagnoses. I specialize in treating traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and issues related to gender and sexuality. I also have experience with mindfulness meditation, challenges related to death and dying, and chronic illness. Additionally, I have several years of experience working with incarcerated populations and enjoy assisting ex-offenders as they reintegrate back into society. My therapy style is psychodynamic, open, and affirming.
I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, which help individuals build self-awareness and challenge unhelpful ways of thinking. By understanding how we think and perceive the world around us, we can take control of these thinking habits and become skilled at changing the resulting feelings.
