About
Abby Wilson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has worked with adults who have a wide range of issues and diagnoses, specializing in treating traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and issues of gender and sexuality. She has experience with mindfulness meditation, challenges related to death and dying, and chronic illness. Abby also has several years of experience working with incarcerated populations and enjoys assisting ex-offenders as they reintegrate back into society. Her therapy style is psychodynamic, open, and affirming.
She utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, which help one to build self-awareness and challenge unhelpful ways of thinking. By understanding the ways we think and perceive the world around us, we can ultimately take control of these thinking habits and become skilled in changing the resulting feelings.
We each face unique challenges in our lives and we possess a unique set of strengths to face these challenges," says Abby. "In therapy, I help people to identify and cultivate these strengths as a vital part of their recovery. I consider it a great honor to assist my clients in their individual journeys towards wellness."
