Welcome, I’m so glad you are considering therapy at this time. There are so many reasons why you might find yourself here right now. Maybe you have been feeling out of control lately, unable to manage your emotions. Maybe you are feeling less connected in your relationships, or perhaps you find yourself struggling with moving forward in some aspect of your life. All of this is understandable, and a normal part of being human. While it might feel like nothing can change or be different for you, the very fact that you are here speaks to some part of you that believes change is possible.
In therapy I give my patients the space to voice their experiences and concerns. Often, the very act of naming our troubles can bring a sense of relief--we are finally being heard. I also challenge my patients on their firmly held beliefs. This can often lead to realizations and insights about themselves that set the groundwork for a better life.
Starting therapy can be nerve wracking, even if you’ve sought help in the past. My goal is to ease the discomfort while still ensuring that we move forward with the (often difficult) work. In my sessions I work to create a feeling of warmth and acceptance, believing that trust and mutual respect are essential to a strong therapeutic relationship.
