Hi, I'm Aaron Shore, owner of gokc, a Nature Therapy & Mental Health Counseling practice rooted here in Kansas City. I became a therapist because I genuinely love this work and I'm proud to be part of this community of helpers. I'm a Kansas City therapist with 20 years of clinical experience supporting adults through trauma, grief, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and the complicated work of figuring out who you are. I'm one of the only therapists in Kansas City offering nature-based therapy — including walk-and-talk sessions and outdoor therapeutic work. I love being outside and connecting with nature, others and myself.

My style is eclectic, warm, and grounded in genuine clinical depth. I use humor, practical skill-building, and challenge to the beliefs that are keeping you stuck. I like EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), trauma and grief recovery frameworks. I lean on 20 years of paying close attention to what actually helps people heal.

We are not meant to live in our struggles. We are more than them. Whatever brings you here — you don't have to have it figured out before we talk. I believe in leaning into your strengths and cultivating a "good enough" mindset in the areas that feel hardest — because perfection isn't the goal. Progress is.
