Our close relationships are important to our mental and emotional well-being and when they are strained, it affects many areas of our lives. In fact, secure relationships are one of the main factors that contribute to the resilience we need to cope with adverse experiences. I specialize in helping couples and families improve their relationships. Healthy relationships are the key to coping with depression, anxiety, trauma, and many other issues. Because of this, my goal is to help everyone have strong, healthy relationships.
Using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, I help couples to understand the cycles in which they find themselves stuck and then help them to recognize the attachment needs that are underneath their responses. Couples are then able to see each other and their reactions in new ways, leading to real change in the relationship.
I believe that all human beings have what they need within themselves. Sometimes we just need a little nudge in the right direction. I help people to recognize what they are doing well and what has worked in the past so that we can build on those successes to move to a stronger future.
