About
I am a clinical psychologist who specializes in psychological assessment (including learning disabilities and ADHD) and therapy. I received my Ph.D. from Columbia University and am board certified in both psychological assessment and clinical psychology. I work with a range of clients from childhood through adulthood, including families (and therapy with therapists). My work tends to be goal-focused. I am on faculty at New York University, where I train doctoral students in psychological assessment and counseling, as well as running a low-fee clinic (https://steinhardt.nyu.edu/center-counseling-and-community-wellbeing).
I have written five books on psychological assessment (including Conducting Psych Assessment: A Guide for Practitioners; Handbook of Psych Assessment). I conduct evaluations for learning disorders, ADHD, diagnosis, and personality and general functioning. In addition to general psychotherapy, I work specifically with addictions and queer and trans clients.
I work with clients to develop goals and frame the best treatment for them. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds, taking a culturally- and emotionally-informed perspective in treatment. We will work together to ensure appropriate and specific, targeted goals to improve your life and strategies to achieve them.
