I work with individuals navigating difficult feelings or behaviors, couples facing intense conflict, & kids/parents who are struggling. Regardless the situation, from day one, I'll bring my authentic self to the room. That includes compassion, directness, and maybe even some occasional humor.
What's A.J. therapy like? Well, I believe you deserve to understand the roots of your Pain: Those unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. So, we'll explore and build mindfulness around when those patterns get activated. And over time, we'll work towards lasting change by healing old wounds, creating new perspectives, and continuous in-session practice.
PARENTS: When working with youth, I require parent(s) to attend regularly so WE can do work too. The goal is to strengthen the relationship so you don't need me anymore! I will likely challenge you a bit- not to criticize, but to address patterns that aren't working. Change requires a willingness to self-reflect, take responsibility, and try new approaches.
