Do you feel anxious, depressed, stressed, unable to balance life and emotions? Do you feel like there’s no way out? Hello, my name is Michele Chenevert, but call me Shelley. I am a licensed clinical social worker and licensed master of family therapist. I have been trained as certified Accelerated Resolution Therapist. I work from a family systems orientation in a person centered manner, emphasizing relational, realistic perspectives. I have worked both inpatient and out. I treat individuals, aged twelve and up, and couples.
I have been helping individuals and families through difficult times for almost thirty years, perhaps I can help you? I have an extensive work history in inpatient and outpatient settings. I am especially well trained in the needs of emerging adults as I worked for Connecticut College Student Counseling for seventeen years.
My goal is for people to develop an understanding of their life situations, an awareness of their emotional habits, and the strength to move beyond old patterns in order to become in touch with one’s authentic self. I recently decided to move in the world of private practice in East Lyme, seeing people in person, and also virtually.
