My clients would describe my therapeutic style as non-judgmental, warm, and encouraging. I have achieved this by creating a supportive therapeutic relationship with individuals, couples, and families - “traditional” and nontraditional. Together, we can explore life transitions, relationships, sexuality, and mental and emotional subjects. Ultimately, you will identify inner and community resources, create and improve coping skills, establish effective self-care practices, and create the reality you want.

Life, as we know it, can be challenging. Trying to balance work, family, friends and simply "alone" time can seem daunting and rendering us powerless. We continue to push through life in spite of these challenges until one day you have finally run out of gas. Many of us are feeling the pinch of burnout and having support and guidance to help identify these pitfalls are vital to our wellbeing. Just being able to find our "voice" can be a journey that can lead to resilience. As an Industrial & Organizational psychologist, I have a keen understanding about these issues and use effective ways to help one navigate through these trials.

When my clients come to me, they're tired of going full-speed & trying to appear perfect. They're so focused on getting the next promotion, being in the right relationship, and not making any mistakes that they feel like they've lost themselves in the daily hustle for the next big thing. They worry they’re pushing people away when they say no. Whether it’s with coworkers or with family and friends, they feel resigned to the needs of others. What they want doesn’t matter. They feel like screaming every time they say yes to something they don’t have the physical or emotional energy for but are afraid of letting someone down.

You are not “crazy” because you are feeling disconnected from your spouse or partner, or because you keep finding yourself in dating relationships or friendships that are more frustrating that fulfilling. You are not “crazy” because you have difficulty making decisions due to worry about what other people will think. You are not “crazy” because you are beginning to question what you thought you would never question. You are human-and we all have times in our lives when we need help.

Hello. I use a direct, yet supportive approach to focus on improving life skills and releasing negative beliefs and behaviors. Experience has shown that by changing unhealthy patterns, expressing fears, and taking gentle risks, it is possible to live a more satisfying life regardless of past traumas and other issues. With a combination of techniques, we will work together on both short and long term goals. I am an interactive therapist and encourage intensive work both in and out of the office. I have a home office and use video sessions as needed to help with time constraints/distance. I have two small sweet dogs.

HAVE YOU BEEN FEELING...LOST? Not in the traditional sense, perhaps, but numb, nervous, or detached. Disconnected from who you are, or where you’re going. Stuck in a fog of unnecessary pain or in the ruts of everyday life, struggling with the same issues, over and over again. No longer will you have to piece together the differing advice of multiple practitioners; together we’ll employ a wide array of supports. Using the best of modern psychotherapeutic practices and ancient healing we’ll reach a holistic solution. As a psychotherapist, I’ve learned pain can be released, trauma can be resolved and healing is your birthright.

A Counselor with professional preparation and skills can help you without a judgmental attitude. I like to focus on the people's strengths and resources opening the path of healing. My background and experience helps me to consider your social context, beliefs and culture.

As a faith based, evidence based, and clinical counselor, I believe therapy is a collaborative journey between the client and therapist. Every individual is composed of mind, body and spirit. If one is out of balance so are the other two. My objective is to provide help on the path to wholeness and tranquility. My first goal in counseling is to create a safe space for clients to express feelings and challenges encountered. As ordained clergy, I believe it is important for clergy to have a forum to express their challenges and thoughts without repercussion or concern about perceptions from congregations in which they serve.

The stress that people face comes from all sides. Therapy is a road to healing and health when stress and anxiety become a burden. If you are a woman overwhelmed by the demands of life, and feeling like you are never enough for anyone, counseling will provide you with the necessary support to be more present and confident in your daily life. If you are are a teen feeling disconnected from your parents, your friends, and yourself, counseling will give you tools to understand yourself and connect with those most important to you. If your child has unique needs or challenging behaviors, parenting counseling will help.

Welcome! I provide trauma-informed counseling to women who want to develop healthier relationships with themselves, others, and God. I believe we were created to connect in meaningful ways. We tend to get stuck in relational patterns that leave us feeling unknown, overwhelmed, and ashamed. Anxiety, insecurities, and past experiences keep you from connecting more honestly with others, and even God. Your relationship with your body never seems to improve. Or maybe you’re exhausted from holding it all together and are ready for more support.

What type of mental health professional is right for me?
Some of the most common types of mental health providers in Georgia are psychologists, licensed counselors, therapists, psychotherapists, and licensed clinical social workers, all of whom diagnose mental health conditions and provide individualized treatment.

Services offered, education and credentials vary by type of mental health professional. Each professional in Georgia then may specialize in certain areas, such as depression, marriage counseling, or anxiety. Although many mental health providers are not licensed to prescribe medication, they may coordinate with a provider who can.

Both in-person and online therapy sessions are available from most psychologists.

How to find a specialist?
You can refine your search using the filters on this page. There are several categories you can filter by to find mental health professionals with the experience you are looking for. You may want to filter for CBT Psychologists in Georgia, or Child Psychologists in Georgia.

Many find it useful to use filters to view only psychologists that have experience working with certain issues, like Georgia psychologists specializing in EMDR.

What method of therapy is right for me?
When it comes to treatment methods, there's no 'right way.’ Each method of therapy can be beneficial for a variety of issues. Psychologists in Georgia specialize in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, EMDR, and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), among others. Finding a psychologist or therapist who is a good fit for you is the most important step to discovering what type of therapy, or combination of therapeutic approaches, will meet your individual needs. Learn what to expect from different types of therapy and how they work.

How to use my insurance?
Many therapists accept health insurance. Check to see if your insurance is covered. Feel free to discuss this when you contact the therapist.
