My approach to therapy with adolescents, men, women, and families is client-centered and collaborative. My role is to help you solve your problems in positive and fulfilling ways. I provide a safe and compassionate place where you can find balance, connection and growth. Because my experience involves working with children, teens, adults and families, I hold a broad scope and view you as a whole person.

Preferred contact method is email, please check your junk for my reply! I feel so fortunate to have found a career that I love, and cherish! My practice came about in the form of an epiphany one day, as I sat on the AIDS unit in NYC as a volunteer. As I listened to a man share his story, I realized that he had not been celebrated for his many talents, but had been ostracized for having AIDS. I decided that my philosophy was going to be-"our differences are what make us beautiful, we should all be celebrated for our uniqueness." This is the philosophy I live by daily.

Do you feel stuck? Through living our lives, we develop mechanisms to navigate specific contexts, but sometimes, those methods no longer work or we grow tired of them. Some signs of being stuck manifest as complicated relationships, a lack of creativity, loss of agency, inability to rest, hesitancy to play, feelings of overwhelm or a lack of interest in life. Together, we can empower your story and regain movement by having an empathetic witness journey with you, navigate your particular context, the relationships/systems around you, your unique brain and perception of self.

When looking for a psychotherapist you may want to know what informs their perspective. I work with people from a family systems model combined with a depth psychology perspective. I hold that each individual is a powerful catalyst in the changes most wanted in one’s life, while each one of us is also exquisitely attuned to the dynamics we are subject to in our relationships. With such powerful energies affecting you, you may need space to express your particular concerns and the issues you wish to explore to an attuned therapist holding you with positive regard. Together we may discover hidden doors to strengths amid our suffering.

Life comes at us fast sometimes; and we struggle to adjust and adapt. As an integrative therapist practicing ONLINE THERAPY only, I take satisfaction in helping otherwise well-functioning adults successfully deal with complex lives and complex individual circumstances. Our development (personal, professional, relational) depends upon the continual management of and response to a changing environment. To a very large degree we are a product of all that we have inherited and all that we have experienced.

First and foremost, you are not a problem! Unfortunately, this is a message that many of us have heard time and time again. Unconsciously internalizing this message can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or that we’re just not good enough. I aim to assist in the process of healing from these internalized messages and empower clients to discover their own meaning about themselves, the world, and their lives. My goal is to help you learn how to separate yourself from the problems affecting you, allowing space to evaluate challenges objectively so you can start taking steps to reduce their impact on your life.

Many of us have known heartache, loss, confusion, and persistent worry. It's my life's work to join people who have struggled with these experiences and help them find clarity, fulfillment, and joy. I'm excited to work with individuals as they dig deeper into understanding the "why" behind their choices and motivations, to feel alive and vibrant no matter what they face. Though I approach therapeutic work in an eclectic way, I primarily utilize evidence-based practices in conjunction with other modalities to create a tailored approach to each person.

Hypnosis is not what you think it is. People get the idea from pop culture that hypnosis is something I will put on you or do to you. This isn't true. You’ve already been in a hypnotic state thousands of times throughout your life. Hypnotherapy is simply using this perfectly natural state to create positive change. This typically requires 3 to 5 sessions. As a certified hypnotherapist, I use hypnosis to help clients overcome limiting and negative behaviors, feelings, & chronic pain. The issues you struggle with originate below the conscious level. If they didn’t, you would easily be able to overcome them using your conscious mind.

You’ve Thought Your Way Through Everything—Except This. You track patterns, analyze dynamics, and anticipate every possible outcome. You’re used to figuring things out—except why you keep hitting the same wall. You don’t need a therapist who just listens. You need someone who keeps up, sees the patterns you’re missing, and helps you actually move forward.I work with deep thinkers, over-analyzers, and highly perceptive people who often feel like therapy is too slow, too vague, or just rehashes things they already know. My approach is interactive, structured, and designed for minds that move fast but crave depth.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
