"First, I believe it is my duty to be able to actively listen to my client, obtain a good understanding of where they are and where they want to go. Together, we will move you and/or your team or organization in the desired direction to reach your goals. As a young man growing up in North Chicago, I quickly learned that life is full of rewards and upsets, if I allowed it to happen. At 3 months old, I was abandoned by my mother, left inside of a garbage can in an alley waiting to die. However, life had other plans for me. A passerby heard my faint cries and pulled me from the garbage can. Later, I was adopted but went on to experience years of physical and emotional abuse by my adopted mother. At the age of 12, I ran away from home and was placed in foster care. I was adopted again, but I experienced more mental and physical abuse. I dropped out of the 9th grade and began running away again. At the age of 16, the authorities declared me an emancipated teenager. With a story like mine, you would probably think there was no hope for finding happiness or for finding quality of life. However, I have learned to use my negative experiences as a testimony to reach out and help others. "

"We all struggle in life at one point or another. However, reaching out for support can take a lot of strength and courage. For this reason, I strive to provide a safe, accepting, non-judgmental environment where you can openly explore your struggles and receive the support and guidance you need. Many times our past experiences have left us with wounds that become aggravated, causing difficulites in our relationships and daily lives. Together, we will reflect upon your emotional states and sources of distress to gain deeper awareness and skills for change, relief and healing in these areas."

"I believe that good therapy is a journey that I accompany my clients on. I feel that each person is unique and the course of therapy is tailored to their needs and comfort level. My ideal client wants something different, better or more in their life and they are ready to work for it. I use both traditional therapeutic styles and hypnotherapy to help my clients find the change they are looking for. I am honored to work with my clients on depression, anxiety, stress, medical noncompliance, health issues, abuse, anger, trauma, weight loss and other life issues."

"I help individuals and couples create and sustain the positive changes they seek in their lives. I provide a supportive environment for clients to practice skills designed to enhance personal, relational, and professional satisfaction. I help people who are hurting after the loss of loved ones and difficult changes in their life. For example, death of a spouse, divorce, parenting challenges, and workplace stress. Additionally, I am familiar with the challenges of military families, deployment, and first responders. The unique cultural challenges of these groups and how therapy can help normalize and reduce mental distress for families and individuals."

"Are you feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges? Not sure how to maneuver through all of the well meant advice from friends and family? I believe that the answers come from within us. The key to these answers is to find the truth within ourselves. Therapy is about discovery. Discovery, like life, can be challenging. My goal is to provide you with a safe place to discover the truths within and to provide you guidance. Life has 3 C's: Choice, Chance, Change. Where do you want to start."

"In today's world there are many stresses: home, school, work, relationships, and navigating all the pieces of our busy lives. If you are experiencing worry, sadness, anxiety, depression, mood swings, or anger that is too big or too constant, you may need a quiet, compassionate listener who can help you reduce your discomfort. I work from a place of wellness and growth, not illness. I will help you understand your challenges in ways that give you the ability to work with your (or your family's) concerns. You can change what needs changing, and keep what works well in your life."

"I am accepting new clients and have availability in the evenings during the week and on Saturday mornings. People come to therapy for many different reasons. Some of these reasons could be depression, anxiety and big life changes. Sometimes parents bring their teenager to therapy because of grades, recent break up, falling into drama, or self-esteem/image."
