Life can be challenging, and you do not have to navigate those challenges alone. Grief after the death of a loved one or another significant loss can feel isolating, disorienting, and overwhelming. Although grief unfolds uniquely for each person, many share a similar struggle: how to honor what has been lost while creating a meaningful path forward. I specialize in grief and loss, supporting individuals coping with the death of a loved one, ambiguous loss, and other major life transitions.
I also work with adults navigating a spectrum of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, ADHD, career and life transitions.

It is hard for many of us to reach out to someone for help. It may be embarrassment, or being unsure how therapy would help heal you. Our journey together will be a compassionate, nonjudgemental classroom where you will learn more of your pure self and its ability to heal. It is important that we both see clearly in our work together: "There’s one skill at the center of any healthy family, company, classroom, community, university or nation — the ability to see someone else deeply, to know another person profoundly, to make them feel heard and understood.” David Brooks, New York Times

I currently do not have new patient openings. I will update as I they come open. The decision to enter therapy, (perhaps for the first time) can be a watershed moment. The person you choose to go with you on that journey should match with who you are. I have sat with many people/families in my 20+ years in private practice. I believe in actively working with my clients so that they can reach their goals. I often give homework outside the sessions. I believe that your journey can be moving more than just within the time spent in session.

Hi there :) I help midlife professionals emotionally attend to inner resistances against topics of shame, complex grief, traumatic loss, and spiritual crisis. Seeking out a new therapist can be overwhelming. While it often boils down to the appropriate fit, I won’t pretend that I know what that 'fit' is for you. Ultimately, I believe there is something within you that knows what is best for you. My job involves helping us attune to this inner voice and hear what else it has to say. An important goal at the beginning of our work is to build a relationship, and we'll spend time in our first sessions exploring our ability to do this.

Your story matters. Peoples’ stories can get messy and I am not afraid to sit in that mess with my clients. I use Narrative Therapy to help clients see the power of their own story and allow me into that narrative so that together we can redefine the messier or more broken parts. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients pinpoint what they value most about their story and work toward acceptance and commitment in taking action steps toward their goals.

As a certified mental performance consultant with an MA in Sport Psychology, I work with athletes and performers who want to conquer their performance anxiety, strengthen their confidence, and renegotiate their relationship with making mistakes. Often, my clients feel like they: get stuck in their own heads; have trouble letting go of mistakes; struggle with perfectionism; are self-critical and getting in their own way; have to perform under pressure; are not communicating well with a coach or teammate; have lost confidence in skills that used to be second nature; and/or are struggling with the demands of being a student-athlete.

I'm not your traditional therapist. I'm a clinical consultant.
If you've already done years of therapy and processed the emotions but still feel stuck, that's where I come in. I don't do crisis work or insurance billing. I work with high-functioning women who understand themselves but can't figure out why they keep hitting the same walls.
My expertise: unearthing the neurology of self-sabotage and the behavioral patterns that keep you from becoming who you want to be. I help you identify what's actually blocking you (not what you think is blocking you) and create a strategic path forward.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
