I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood swings, and PTSD. My approach is strengths-based and collaborative. I work with clients to enhance personal strengths while offering additional tools found in cognitive-behavioral treatments and DBT mindfulness-based skills. When indicated, I incorporate EMDR to treat PTSD; reduce anxiety and depression symptoms; and strengthen coping skills including spiritual resources. For clients seeking insight into how early relationships may be impacting their current relationships and well-being, I offer exploration in an accepting, interactive therapy relationship.

Are you aware that something lays under the surface of your daily life but can't quite name what it is? Therapy is a safe place where you can explore the emotions, memories, and issues that can be easily buried as you go about your life. Whether you have a specific issue that brings you to seek counseling or have just a general sense that something isn't quite right, I would love to meet with you. Often, it is only through connecting in safe relationship that hidden emotions can freely come out. For CO clients, you can book with me by clicking on my Headway website.

The origin of the word, "heal", means to make "whole". As we are affected by the inevitable challenges and traumas in life, we tend to adapt by splitting off essential parts of who we are. These adaptations assist for a while, before they ultimately start harming us. It simply doesn't work to be so internally fractured. Becoming "whole" demands that we start including and re-membering all that has been lost. It's a rigorous undertaking that can be overwhelming on one's own. The role of the therapist is to be a companion to the inner world, to hold a map when we are lost, and to witness all aspects of who we are.

Counseling is sacred work. It is through the vehicle of relationship, with both God and others, that humans were intended to experience restoration. While relationships can be a source of pain, they are also a powerful force for resiliency. Through the therapeutic relationship, I enjoy coming alongside clients on their journey by providing a safe and compassionate space for exploration. Together we will go beyond just symptom management and work toward understanding the root of what you are experiencing. Whatever you are facing, you were never meant to do so alone.

Finding a therapist can be a daunting task. I believe that the therapist-client relationship is very important and is key to productive therapeutic work. I work with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, and PTSD as well as Bariatric issues. Many times, the pressures of life will lead clients to seek counseling to deal with relationship and family issues. I am a co-occurring disorder therapist which means I also have credentials in addiction. Many of my clients may have a mental health issue as well as an addictive disorder.
