You may feel stuck—grieving a loss, questioning who you are, or longing to trust again after disappointment or change. Maybe you’ve worked hard to hold everything together but feel tired, disconnected, or unsure of your worth. You want to feel more alive in your body, confident in your identity, and open to love, intimacy, and pleasure. My clients come to therapy ready to look honestly at what’s getting in the way of connection and to build relationships—both with themselves and others—grounded in authenticity and self-trust.

Awareness is everything. How often do we ask ourselves: "How did I get back here again?" - repeating patterns of self-defeating behavior. Raising our awareness of these patterns can help free us from re-engaging in them. The rewards of this exploration are bountiful - as we watch new, healthier behaviors emerge. We get a glimpse of the gifts that life can offer us by simply getting out of our own way. In my practice, I have had the privilege of witnessing the emotional freedom that change can bring and its powerful healing of depression, anxiety and trauma.

It takes a lot of courage to begin therapy. That is why I use a warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach. I hope to create a safe therapeutic space to help you feel supported while you take steps towards desired change so you can live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. I believe in the profound impact of relationships and connection on our lives. Yet, when things aren’t going well in this area it can be all-consuming. Specializing in working with both individuals and couples, I address issues like anxiety, perfectionism, and burnout, and work to enhance intimacy and satisfaction in relationships.

You want things to feel more manageable, but you also want relief from a deeper place. Maybe it's easier to talk about your symptoms and, yes, it'd be nice to figure out to be more functional on the surface, but you also know that there might be something beneath that surface that's causing all of this. You want to uproot it. Whether you call it anxiety, depression, anger, work stress, money stress, relationship problems, family trauma, low self-esteem, queer oppression, racism, body image discomfort, or simply not feeling understood, you want liberation from the mental torment. You want to feel like you again.

I provide counseling focused on transformation. My practice is grounded in wonder and awe, and is informed by the latest neurobiology. My work is trauma-informed, anti-racist, queer/trans affirming, fat/body positive, embraces diversity of neurotypes, relationship styles, economic experiences, and abilities. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to promote cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioral transformation and unburden anxious, fear, and/or critical parts.

Feeling distressed in today’s world is not a personal failing—it’s a natural human response. We live within systems that prize profit and power over wellness, community, and care. For those who are immigrants, queer, neurodivergent, disabled, Covid-conscious, or otherwise marginalized, the world can feel especially hostile. I also work with people navigating body-focused repetitive behaviors (like skin picking or hair pulling), chronic pain, and PMDD.

My down-to-earth, accepting approach creates a space where people feel supported and empowered to take on their most difficult challenges. I show up authentically, which includes some swearing and lots of compassion. I will not judge you, and with over a decade of experience, there's not much that would surprise me. I will teach you skills to cope with your immediate difficulties and help you find and heal what's under the surface, interfering with the life you want to live. Often times the only way out is through, but you don’t have to make that journey alone.
