My clinical approach is largely psychodynamic with existential and humanistic elements. Some of my clinical interests include: adult developmental life transitions, the impact of chronic illness (on both the person with chronic illness and those caring for someone with chronic illness/ongoing health needs), and men's issues.

We reach out for help when something in our life gets our attention. It could be distressing feelings and thoughts, paralyzing indecision, stress, relationship challenges, trauma, illness, just to name a few. We can feel vulnerable, lost, alone. Oftentimes, the original issue which first got our attention takes us on an unexpected journey. We are given the opportunity to deepen into our relationship with ourselves and the divine in ways that heal and change us beyond anything we imagined. This reverberates into every aspect of our life bringing happiness, renewed vitality, a sense of belonging and feeling engaged in life, contentment and peace.

I work with parents who want a thoughtful, child-centered approach to divorce. My clients are often motivated to reduce conflict, protect their children from the stress of the process, and make decisions they can live with long-term. Some are early in the divorce process and feeling overwhelmed about where to start. Others are already navigating separation and need structure, clarity, and a steady process to move forward. Many are drawn to collaborative law mediation because they want to stay out of court, maintain more control over decisions, and build a workable co-parenting relationship moving forward.

My intention as a counselor is to form a relationship which becomes a safe place within which you can explore the nature of persistent obstacles which leave you feeling confused, overwhelmed, or "stuck." We will look at your style of relating to others, habits and patterns formed throughout the years, as a way to gain insight into who you are and where you would like to be. We will explore the significant relationships in your life (FAMILY OF ORIGIN, romantic, friendships) as well as your relationship with yourself (your emotions, how you handle and/or address conflict, anxiety, stress, sadness).

Do you look like you’re holding it all together on the outside while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted underneath? Have you experienced a loss that shattered your sense of stability and you feel unsure of how to move forward in life? Are you wondering why you still feel stuck, avoid certain situations, struggle with self-worth, or can’t seem to “move on” from what happened? Do you want to feel present and able to engage with life without guilt, shame, or fear holding you back? I help people make sense of loss, trauma, and overwhelming experiences so they can feel more grounded and like themselves again.

You may feel stuck in repetitive patterns, struggling to connect with yourself or your partner. Maybe you keep having the same fights or feel distant, unseen, or misunderstood. You want more—more intimacy, better communication, and freedom from old wounds. Whether as an individual or a couple, you're looking for real change. You’re ready to break cycles, show up fully, and create relationships that feel safe, alive, and deeply connected.

I think deep down we all want spaces where we can be totally real. Where we can say whatever we think or feel and not be judged for it. When we don't have these spaces, we learn to hide in order to protect ourselves. We don't say what we actually think or feel for so long that sometimes we stop knowing ourselves or feeling known by others. We get stuck in patterns that we don't want, but don't know how to get out of. If you're sick of feeling stuck, therapy is a great place to start. Once we make space to know ourselves, change can actually happen.

Helping teens feel understood, connected, and more at ease in themselves is at the heart of my work. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families in San Francisco. I offer a supportive, down-to-earth space where teens can show up as they are—whether they’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or trying to make sense of who they are. Together, we move at a pace that feels comfortable, building insight, coping skills, and a stronger sense of self. I have a particular focus on working with teens who have been adopted—domestic and international.

I approach therapy with compassion, humor and curiosity. I enjoy working with clients with obsessional fears and urges, and compulsive behaviors that get in the way of their lives. I'm certified by the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is a cognitive behavioral therapy approach specific to treating OCD. I use ERP in tandem with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is a transdiagnostic approach that is also effective in treating OCD and related disorders.

Our relationships reflect the best and worst parts of ourselves. You might be struggling to find a rewarding partnership, meaningful friendships, collaborative co-workers, efficacy as a parent or a sense of purpose. A strong therapeutic relationship can provide perspective and support as you navigate your personal and professional obstacles. In time, your life can be an integrated, balanced, sustainable system that grows stronger in the face of change and adversity.

You’re tired of being on autopilot, pretending that everything’s fine because you know it’s not. You feel like you’re sinking into quicksand with no way out. You’re overwhelmed, worried, and exhausted. You know that what you’re currently doing isn’t working, but you feel helpless and unsure of what to do differently.

I’m passionate about helping kids and teens who struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, and overwhelming emotions to find comfort and peace in their own skin. Growing up can be tough, particularly if your child has experienced big life changes, trauma, or is highly sensitive. Your child may feel scared, sad, or worry that something is wrong with them. As a parent you may feel discouraged that, despite every effort to support them, your child is still struggling. In our therapy sessions, I’m here to help your child develop a greater sense of ease in who they are, learn skills, and build confidence in navigating the ups and downs of life.

In therapy, I support my clients with navigating; self-esteem/self-worth, limiting beliefs, grief, interpersonal struggles, relational disconnect, identity exploration, developmental & systemic trauma, coping strategies, communication struggles, suicidal ideation, family system dynamics, nervous system dysregulation, attachment schemas, and shame. I approach therapy as a co-explorer; working with my clients to access their internal compass, identify personal values that move them through the world, and uncover inner resources they are already equipped with that can provide healing in relationship to them-self and others.

Making the decision to seek therapy is a powerful moment in your life, and finding the right therapist is the next step on that path. I see my role as a partner and witness in your exploration of what being a whole person means to you. Anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues or a general feeling of being "stuck" are just some of the possible issues that might bring you to therapy. Regardless of the reason you may choose to work with me, you can expect to find a place of acceptance in which to share your authentic self.
