We are not meant to be static beings yet we may find ourselves stuck in undesirable feelings, situations, or relationships. It is through the process of self discovery, looking inward at our past and present selves, that we are able to gain perspective and identify necessary change. Therapy can help you navigate this journey. As a provider I hope to help facilitate a space of curiosity necessary for this deep exploration.

You were born with inner strength and wisdom with the capacity to heal when given the chance. However, life’s challenges can often obscure this truth, leading to feelings of deep sadness, anger, fear, loneliness, and disconnection. Your emotions feel uncontrollable and overwhelming. You feel hopeless and stuck in a cycle of unwanted patterns. You want to understand your experiences, identify the root cause of your problems, and move forward with the life you desire. You want break free patterns of anxiousness, emptiness, frustration, and sadness. You are ready for relief, for clarity, and for joy. You want to feel whole again.

Hello and welcome! It's not easy being a human navigating complex systems and interruptions to our preferred narrative of life. Our agency can become overshadowed by biological, social, psychological, cultural, familial, and political expectations - leaving us feeling conflicted, fatigued, reactive, confused, and uncertain. Utilizing a unique combination of narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and polyvagal theory, I collaborate with clients age 13 and up, to identify how these expectations cause conflict and reconstruct experiences where the client can respond to life from a place of agency and Self.

I think deep down we all want spaces where we can be totally real. Where we can say whatever we think or feel and not be judged for it. When we don't have these spaces, we learn to hide in order to protect ourselves. We don't say what we actually think or feel for so long that sometimes we stop knowing ourselves or feeling known by others. We get stuck in patterns that we don't want, but don't know how to get out of. If you're sick of feeling stuck, therapy is a great place to start. Once we make space to know ourselves, change can actually happen.

Welcome to Seattle Couples Therapy. Emotions are what make us human. I help high achievers connect with their emotions in a way that fuels authenticity, attunement, and connection. Suffering that results from trauma, neglect, loss, or oppression can force us to experience our emotions as overwhelming, too painful, and too terrifying to bear. In order to cope, we bury our true feelings under competent-looking facades and ignore experiences that inadvertently continue to undermine us, our relationships, our work life, and our communities. This is a recipe for anxiety, depression, and relationship distress.

Our relationships—with ourselves and others—are fundamental to our overall wellbeing. Yet, for many, past wounds can create barriers to connecting in the ways we long for. I work with clients to identify the coping mechanisms that once helped them navigate life but are no longer serving them in the present. By exploring these survival strategies, we create space to cultivate compassion for ourselves and others. Through this practice of self-acceptance, we can begin to build the deeper, more meaningful connections we've been longing for. I see therapy as a safe space to practice the vulnerability that brings true intimacy.

When thinking about the therapeutic journey of the client, I look towards the whole self of the client. When presenting issues of emotions and behaviors, feeling like they are not in control in life, I collaborate with people to identify goals that take them toward a path of full autonomy over their feelings. Whether they are asking for help with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or just need some encouragement, I, without judgement or assumptions, help them be aware in the moment. I welcome people who struggle with being present and are seeking a long-term collaboration that is compassionate, empathetic, and empowering

In the various seasons of struggle that life brings our way, therapy can be a space for reflection, healing, and growth. The decision to seek out therapy can be an intimidating one, and yet the decision to reach out for support, to take a step back to examine your life and relationships, to seek out growth and healing, is a courageous step towards change. At varying points in our lives, we all can benefit from the support and resources for growth accessed in the deepening of self-understanding found through therapy.

Reaching out for help is one of the most vulnerable and difficult things we do in life. You may want to learn more about your patterns, your identity, or your relationships. You may feel stuck, confused, alone, overwhelmed, or totally lost. Finding a safe place to land and unpack whatever is getting in your way is so important, and all of us need (and deserve) help along the way.

Thank you for having the courage to seek therapy. I do not know your story or why you are seeking but I know that it is not easy. In working with me, my hope for you would be that you would find freedom from whatever binds you and keeps you from joy, from peace, from living as fully as you have in you to live.

I meet with adults to explore together in a safe and inviting space how a person experiences life and encounters various emotional concerns along the way. With care, you and I can take a close look around to see where you are now, how you got here, and where you'd like to be. We can also notice how your ways of being in the world were useful to you in the past, how they are still useful, and how those ways may no longer help or feel true to who you are now.
