My therapeutic approach to working with clients is strength-based and person-centered. I work to create an environment where you can develop trust in me and feel safe to share your story. With this environment in place, we work together to create realistic goals that can meet your needs and provide you with the skills to find more balance and meet the challenges of life.

My aim is to help those clients who want to use therapy for insight, self-exploration, healing and personal growth. My theoretical approach is holistic and relational, which means - together, we can explore the ways in which your personal history and learned habits may still be influencing your emotions, coping patterns and behaviors -- ultimately affecting your sense of self. Together we’ll sort out your feelings so that you can more fluidly access your innate capacity for compassionate self-care. I encourage a mindfulness focus to engage your “in-the-moment” experience. Our therapeutic connection can serve as a rich resource.

Emotions can be both wonderful and scary. Feeling alone in a crowd, or feeling crowded when alone, can happen to anyone. We may ask ourselves: "What am I afraid of?", "Why am I angry?", "Why did I just do that?", or "Why is this happening?" We may also tell ourselves, "I don't deserve this.", "I always mess things up.", or "No one can help me." If you can relate to these types of questions or statements, I may be able to help.

To the Hyper-Independent Overachiever, the Caregiver, the People-Pleaser; I welcome you and hold space for your pain. Your childhood taught you to survive by being strong, growing up quickly, and banishing your needs. As an adult you likely feel emotionally disconnected, alone but struggle to ask for help. Together we will tend to old wounds, repair ruptures in relationships with self and others, and increase your sense of self-understanding and acceptance. We'll move from frantic "doing" to mindful "being", from self-neglect to self-compassion, from proving your worth to knowing your value. I am so glad you are here.
