Are you looking to learn skills that can help you with stress, anxiety, and self-doubt? You are conscientious and smart, yet feel overwhelmed by high demands or new changes. You have also experienced a difficult childhood, characterized by a significant traumatic event, or many incidents of invalidation, such as constant criticism by your parents. Hi, my name is Hannah. My intentions as your counselor are to provide you with the time, space, and capacity to support you and cultivate an environment for healing, empowerment, and growth. As every one of us is an individual, so too should be the help, care, and guidance you receive. I believe that a person sets their own goals and is the expert on their own lives and the people in them. Together as your guide, we will work collaboratively to achieve your aspirations. My goal is to help rejuvenate and redirect your innate healing abilities to help you feel fulfilled, happy, safe, and comfortable in the life you are living.

You have worlds to explore within yourself, so much strength to uncover, feelings to connect with, and pain to heal. My intention is not to "fix" you, but to help you reclaim your power so that you can feel confident in your innate ability to work toward balance and growth. My aim is always for you to feel safe, seen, and heard. In a world that seems to constantly pull your energy outward in a way that doesn't serve you, I want to provide you with a space where you can turn inward, with intention and compassion.

Finding the right therapist can be challenging! But feeling connected and safe is essential to the work you will do in therapy. It takes a lot of courage to open your life up to someone else, to be vulnerable and willing to work on yourself. I place a high priority on creating a safe space for clients to share, we get enough judgment elsewhere in life. I am passionate about helping individuals struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, body image, relationship issues, work/career stress and communication issues. I have experience working at intensive treatment settings for eating disorders, substance use and chronic pain as well.

While it can be tempting to avoid things that cause distress, it can create problems that leave us feeling disconnected or stuck. It happens when parts of our story contain difficult experiences that we aren’t equipped to hold. We find ways to alter or reject those parts, like little life-hacks to be self-reliant, find control, hide emotions, or people please to name a few. Except our lives are complex and without all the pieces we also lose connection with the parts we desire - relationships, academics, careers, or health & well-being. Therapy gives us to the tools to restore the altered pieces and live from a place of connection.

You've realized you're spreading yourself too thin and continuing to prioritize other people's needs or work above yourself again. Maybe you're also experiencing depression, anxiety, or other life stressors that makes everything feel that much harder. Do you want to find your voice by creating stronger boundaries and/or developing tools to overcome your stressors? Prioritizing yourself can feel scary at first. No matter what is making prioritizing yourself difficult right now, I hope we can work together. I specialize in working with adults, healthcare workers, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and ENM/polyam populations.

Each family is unique, but some have exceptional needs. As a mom of kids with special issues, and having worked in special education for decades, I understand the needs of exceptional families. I love working with children on grief, anxiety, self-esteem, social skills, etc; parents struggling with their child's diagnosis will appreciate my understanding and ability to provide concrete steps to improve coping. Recently, I have obtained my certificate in Independent Educational Consulting and have immersed myself in the world of college admissions, & provide college counseling for teens, including those with disabilities.

I work with individuals, couples, children, youth and families. My approach comes from a humanistic and systemic perspective, situating each individual's experiences within the context of family relationships and societal and cultural influences. I am particularly sensitive to the ways each individual's identity in regards to gender, age, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, class background, disability, and country of origin influences the messages they receive from society and the way they think and feel about themselves. I prioritize attuning and collaborating with each client and utilize playful and embodied approaches

Have you ever wondered why certain life patterns have been so hard to turn around? Perhaps you struggle with money problems, feel hopeless, suffer from weight problems, or addictions you can't seem to beat. Psychological and physical ailments such as these, as well as self-doubts, often originate from past events of which you may be unaware. They don't have to remain a mystery-or have power over you anymore! Real lasting change comes not only from an understanding of those events, but from creating corrective emotional experiences that allow you to release those old, unproductive patterns.

Welcoming New Clients! I work with individuals going through a major life transition such as a breakup/divorce, relationship issue, job stress, caregiver burnout, personal loss, "empty nester syndrome", etc. They're surprised how acute stress has revealed things about themselves that have been too painful to acknowledge until now. Whether it's underlying anxiety or depression symptoms, perfectionism, regret, grief, emptiness or shame, they want to learn more about who they are so they can have a more fulfilling relationship with themselves and others.

Hello and Welcome! Are you dealing with anxiety, depression, a harsh inner critic, a big life transition, or relationship distress? Do you feel pressured to behave in ways that don’t feel authentic or healthy for you? Do you identify as a shadow worker or a highly sensitive person? Were you subjected to narcissistic abuse, scapegoating, and/or parentification as a child? Do you feel eager to gain insight and learn how to relate to yourself, others, and life in ways that feel nourishing? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I would love to hear from you!

How can I find a therapist in 98011?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
