Life is an incredible journey full of excitement, joy and wonder. There are also times when life brings us pain, difficulty and grief. I aim to create an accepting, open space where you are supported in embodying your authentic self and achieving growth as you define it. We all need opportunities to express our thoughts, feelings, concerns, and hopes freely; and to gain new insights. Together, we can work to identify the patterns, behaviors and relationships that contribute to your fulfillment, or hold you back. Drawing on many varied life experiences, I pride myself on an ability to connect to a diverse range of identities.

Have you been holding it together for a long time, maybe for everyone else, but lately it feels like too much? I highlight working with teens, and adults of all ages navigating anxiety, trauma, addiction, or life transitions. Therapy can be a place to pause, exhale, and begin again. I provide a warm, compassionate, and collaborative space where we explore what’s weighing on you and how we can shift the dynamic. While focusing on rediscovering your strengths, and build practical tools to move forward with clarity, balance, and hope. Whatever the specific circumstances, my door is open.

Are you ready for big change? Sometimes we come to a point where we feel like we’ve hit a wall. Maybe you’ve been doing therapy for years, but you still feel like something needs to break through. Or maybe you feel like you know what you need to do in your head, but it's not clicking in your heart and body. If this feels like where you’re finding yourself, I can help. Being a sensitive person in this world can be tough. I want to help you find your power, connect to your intuition, and step into embracing yourself exactly as you are.

It seems we are taught the same general A+B+C equals health, but it’s not that simple. When we find ourselves somewhere in between angry, hurt, ashamed, confused, chaotic, and in pain; there is nothing general about it. By choice or force we have been opened and we find ourselves agonizingly and explicitly pulled in multiple directions at once. These tensions are unavoidable in life and are a part of the human experience. At times we can deal with this on our own, at others we need help raising what we cannot yet see within that offers to not just manage our obscured ailments, but to transcend and operate outside them with others.

I am a retired high tech executive who has embarked on a career as a life coach specializing in addiction counseling. As a State-certified counselor, I’ve helped men from 20 to 60 years of age and from many backgrounds. However, having worked in the corporate world, I’m uniquely qualified to help people struggling with substance abuse in high pressure environments. Addiction is a secondary issue in my view. The problem is most people approach life in a reactive, rather than proactive mode. This usually results in sub-optimal outcomes. I will help you with personal and professional life planning to get your life on track.

Many of us carry emotional patterns and protective parts that once helped us survive but can later leave us feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck: especially in our relationships. I believe therapy works best when it’s tailored to you and, when relevant, to the emotional bonds that shape your life. My work is grounded in an eclectic approach- using informed strategies, with a focus on helping individuals and couples better understand their emotional worlds, strengthen secure connection, and create new, more supportive patterns.

I use a trauma-focused approach that is grounded in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Brainspotting, and ecotherapy/nature therapy. I also supplement the work with Narrative Therapy and concepts from Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am kink-allied and queer-allied and love supporting members of both communities.

Welcome! I believe that each of us is the expert in our own life, with the capacity to grow, change, and persevere. And, we all know what it is to be stuck. Whether on the edge—or muddy middle—of a life transition, in a state of depression or anxiety, or in our grief, we can benefit from having someone stand alongside us. For these challenges, as well as crisis and suicidal ideation, trauma, isolation and loneliness, divorce, women's issues, and work with adolescents (13+), I am honored to be with you as we navigate this space.

You’re ready for change that’s more than just understanding; you want to feel different in your body and relationships. Our work together focuses on weaving insight with embodied healing, so that change feels lasting, grounded, and genuinely yours.

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
