I know how heavy life can feel sometimes, and I believe no one should have to carry that weight alone. Counseling gives you a safe place to talk through struggles, sort out what feels overwhelming, and find new ways forward. My heart is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as you work toward healing and balance.
My approach to counseling comes from years of working alongside men in both the U.S. Military and the civilian world. I’ve seen firsthand the unique pressures and expectations men often face—the pressure to always be strong, stay silent, and push through on their own. I get how hard it can be to

—I have some limited availability at this time.— At different times in our lives, we may find ourselves feeling challenged or overwhelmed by life's demands and transitions. It is during these challenges, that a trusting relationship with a counselor can give dynamic support, to sort through our inner world, thoughts, and feelings. Through this journey work we may begin to experience ourselves and our stories in a new way. This offers the opportunity for more conscious connection, authentic expression, and balance in our lives.

I'm excited to offer two openings! Mondays at 1pm weekly and Wednesdays at 1pm every other week. My approach can be described as Client-centered strength-based positive psychology. This assumes that you are whole and have internal resources to work through life issues but may not have learned how to access them. I will help you locate and strengthen your inner resources. I don't subscribe to the "disease" model, which assumes that people have something wrong that needs to be fixed. Life holds challenges, and sometimes bad things do happen to good people. It's not what happens to us, but how we react to what happens.

I work with adolescents and adults doing individual and couples therapy. I help people change unhappy patterns in their lives and find relief from suffering. I utilize psychodynamic interventions, IFS therapy, and EMDR to help clients change. Gaining insight into unconscious processes is an important step in recovering from trauma, anxiety and depression. Making the unconscious conscious, learning about parts, and overcoming past contributors to current suffering, are all part of the therapeutic process.

As a systems oriented psychotherapist,
I believe that we are connected to and affected by those around us. Our families of origin,
communities, cultures, workplaces and families of choice impact our lives and sense of self.
Relationships and experiences we have had in the past influence who we are and how we relate to the world. To live with the greatest joy and productivity we must heal past relational traumas and bring to consciousness effects they have had in our lives. By doing so, we are free to make thoughtful choices about how we live our lives and relate to others.
