As a family therapist, I believe that each family, couple and individual has the ability to heal using their own internal strengths. My focus is on restoring balance and building communication within families as they are integral in increasing the overall well-being of individuals, couples and families. I identify symptoms such as marital discord, addiction, behavioral issues among children and adolescents, mental and medical health issues as becoming an unhelpful part of the family system. My approach to reduce the impact of these symptoms and break harmful patterns is collaborative, encouraging members to be open and honest throughout the progression of therapy.

As a mental health therapist, and clinic director at Senua Counseling Clinic, I work from a client centered, integrative approach. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), client centered treatment, and solution focused therapy. I also believe that we need to work together, as a team, to help you achieve your goals. The body and mind are greatly connected and intertwined, which is why I believe in a holistic approach to mental health care. I am happy and honored to provide you with a non-judgmental, safe space for you to tell your story, set your goals, and become the person you were meant to be.

I have a specialty in addressing men's issues whether it be about relationships, work, life transitions, or maladaptive coping behaviors a client wants to stop or make more productive. I have more than 28 years of experience. I strive to empower clients with skills, insights, and information to resolve, or to better manage the challenges or illnesses they are facing. I strive to create a safe and collaborative environment to co-create solutions. I also provide a more general practice working with adults on issues related to adjustment, mood, anxiety, parenting, marital/couples, and family issues.

In my approach, I work in partnership with teenagers and adolescents to help them reach the goals they have set for themselves. Often, this work includes healing from past negative experiences and traumas, support during developmental milestones and issues connected “stage of life” challenges. I have deep confidence in a person’s inherent knowledge of self, resilience and ability to heal and grow in order to be their whole self. I have experience working in the field of social work for over ten years, supporting individuals and communities in a variety of environments including the juvenile justice system, education and advocacy work, residential treatment, community-based work and non-profits. In my work I have developed a client-centered, strengths-based and trauma informed practice modality.

I have over 28 years of experience supporting people struggling with a variety of issues - depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma & PTSD, grief & loss, life changes, abuse, and more. I personally and professionally understand the dynamics that accompany many of these life challenges.

Even when we feel stuck, hurt or confused; our mood or life feel off balance; or our relationship has lost it's way, with the right support, we can draw upon existing strengths and wisdom to take the leap into transitions towards a better life for ourselves. I work with couples, seeking a bridge back to one another when distance, conflict or communication difficulties have taken away their sense of connectedness and understanding. I work with individuals to help them find a sense of clarity and direction, and the resilience to clear away obstacles or painful memories that seem insurmountable.

Are you ready to leave the past behind? I specialize in the treatment of adults with issues related to trauma/PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, and addiction. Difficulties in these areas often contribute to relationship disturbances and problems at home, work, or school. After developing an understanding of your circumstances and challenges, together we will develop a treatment plan. Emphasis may be on reducing distress or addressing deeper patterns, trauma, or attachment issues. This may include learning skills, developing resources, gaining insight, or processing past events/memories.

I have the utmost in unconditional positive regard for everyone, and no-one can work harder than you. In my practice with individuals and couples, I often use mindfulness-based therapies. Mindfulness has helped a great number of people work through the emotional difficulties that life often presents. Yet I always work in a way that serves my clients best. If you are experiencing emotional distress, I offer you a therapy environment of safety, caring, acceptance, and trust. My goal for all of my clients is to compassionately help them resolve any barriers that are preventing them from living joyfully. I work with any client(s) living in Oregon via a secure teletherapy platform.

Whether you're an adult struggling with work, parenting, relationships, and life or a teen trying to make it through the school day. I work with teens to help them communicate their needs, make sense of their world, and build the skills for managing their mental health and overall happiness. For adults, I help them to calm their thoughts and find passion in their life, relationships, and work. I also offer services for help with addiction.

I have worked as a counselor for over 25 years and have a wide range of experience with marriage, depression and anxiety issues. I have also developed a sub-specialty in pornography addiction. I take time to integrate Biblical faith with practical guidance for all of my clients desiring to practice their faith in a manner consistent with their actions. I love to work with people who are ready to get to work and discover what emotions, behaviors and thinking keeps them from living the life they desire to live.
